Synopsis:
A young boy (created by the author) named Jin appears to the Tenchi crew aboard the Soja. He has no idea of his past, and only remembers his first and middle names! So he gives himself a last name, becoming Jin Akeno Yokimo. With no parents, friends, or family, Jin moves in and steals the center spotlight from Tenchi with his "Ryu-ken" sword, a sword that can ignite into flames on its owner's command. A tragic childhood and plagues of self-doubt constantly run through him. The boy is a solitary person, with space in his heart only for Sasami.

Impression:
Most characters created by the author stink. Jin, on the other hand, is a very good character as he has background. The story further enhances Jin with impressive character development. This is a well written fanfic considering more of the story concerns Jin, not Tenchi. The only flaw is a small one: the fanfic isn't one-hundred percent centered on each and every character, leaving some gaps in time. It still has Tenchi, and the flaw is overlookable. Major details in the fic seem rushed, but smooth out over time. Also, many of the rushed details are rushed for a reason. Only later fanfics will reveal that reason, making the reader want to read more! The fanfic has a dark side (JIn's past), romance (Jin's relationship with Sasami), and comedy (Jin's comedy). All in all, the fanfic would definitely be missing something without Jin.
