Looks like since the beginning of February this site was completely broken - I really need to get some kind of monitoring set up to notice problems more quickly. Anyway, it's fixed now.
Explanation for the technically minded: My webhoster apparently updated to PHP 5.2, which introduces a new function named date_format - unfortunately, my site had already defined a function of the same name, and apparently PHP goes completely bonkers when you try to redefine a builtin function. Which is a major problem, given that PHP builtin functions all live in the same flat namespace.
Launched my personal homepage at a new domain: brazzy.de. At the same time, I restructured my anime sites and moved everything to subdomains. The URL has thus changed, but you've been redirected automatically.
Switched to a new webspace provider, which caused some problems. But everything should be working again now. I might do some cosmetical work or at least update the faq when I get around to it.
Forum spam got so bad that I had to implement countermeasures. While doing so, I found out that it has apparently been impossible to create an account by navigating through the website, for god knows how long (seems the spamming uses automated scripts that go directly to the right page). No wonder the site has been dead... I'm such an idiot! Well, it's fixed now, though I doubt it will have an effect at this point.
After a hardware failure the database was gone, and due to being busy with work and then going on vacation I didn't even notice for months and then was too lazy to do anything about it. Restored everything from backup now.
Everything up and working again.
The site has been broken for a few days after a server upgrade, Sorry. I now got it to work for the most part, but there is still a problem with showing the reviews.
Added a link to a very good essay about fanfic writing.
Apparently I'll receive this year's "Special Achievement Award for Tenchi Muyo fanfiction" from the Tenchi Muyo Fanfiction Awards committee. It's always nice to be appreciated and maybe it will encourage people to contribute to this site! Voting for the regular fanfic awards is still open, and the awards ceremony promises to be interesting...
Tadaaah! The fully interactive version of my review page is now (mostly) finished and online! Everyone can write reviews, and people can vote on reviews. I hope for lots of contribution so that the site doesn't become stale. As always, send me an email if you have questions, bug reports, suggestions, etc.
I switched the site to the new basic structure that will eventually allow contribution by everyone. The first benefit is that the forum profile is now integrated with the review database and lists fics and reviews written by that person (see my profile for an example). fanfics are now separate entities from reviews so that several people can review the same fic. The search feature as well as the statistics and technical pages are disabled until I get around to adjusting them. Also, note the pseudo-HTML tags that can be used in the forum as well as in the reviews (eventually).
This has been a pretty big change, even if it doesn't look like it. So there may be bugs or corrupted data. If you notice anything strange, please send me an email. Also, I'd like to point out again that fic authors who've had fics reviewed by me have to contact me, preferably before making a new login, so that their logins will be linked to their fics.
The website now has a full-featured Forum! This is actually the first manifestation of the future of this site, which will be a lot more interactive. As I mentioned before, everyone will be able to contribute reviews. Since the databses of the forum and the review part will be integrated, I have something to ask of fanfic authors: if you've had one of your fics reviewed by me, please don't create a new login for the forum; instead mail me to get login information for your already existing account.
Otherwise, have fun!
